ON-SITE | Contract / Full-time

 

This role is for an experienced Research Associate with strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams. This role will be responsible for supporting the design, execution, and reporting of research projects - from data collection to insight generation - ensuring accuracy, reliability, and relevance in every output.

Key Responsibilities:
 

1. Research Planning & Execution

a. Project Design

  • Assist in designing research methodologies and frameworks tailored to client or organisational needs.

b. Tool Development

  • Develop data collection instruments such as questionnaires, interview guides, and fieldwork protocols.

​

c. Ethics & Standards

  • Ensure all research activities comply with ethical guidelines and data integrity standards.

​

2. Data Collection & Fieldwork

a. Interviews & Surveys

  • Conduct comprehensive in-depth interviews and focus group sessions, alongside administering structured surveys, to collect both quantitative and qualitative data.

​

b. Field Observations

  • Carry out field visits to collect contextual and observational data.

​

c. Data Accuracy

  • Ensure consistency, reliability, and accuracy during data collection.

​

3. Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyse quantitative data using tools such as Excel, SPSS, SAS, and R.

  • Use NVivo or similar software to code and interpret qualitative findings.

  • Generate meaningful, evidence-based insights from collected data.

​

4. Report & Presentation

a. Report Writing

  • Prepare detailed research reports, executive summaries, and data visualisations.

b. Presentation Development

  • Design and deliver presentations tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.

​

c. Data Visualisation

  • Transform complex datasets into clear, user-friendly visuals.

5. Project Coordination

a. Timeline Management

  • Track project milestones and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

​

b. Logistics Coordination

  • Manage fieldwork logistics, stakeholder meetings, and event documentation.

​

c. Documentation

  • Maintain accurate project records and archives for reference.

​

6. Collaboration & Proposal Development

a. Cross-functional Work

  • Cross collaboration between Design & Communications and the Admin Department to integrate project outputs into broader initiatives.

​

b. Proposal Writing

  • Contribute to project proposals, concept notes, and funding applications.

​

c. Stakeholder Liaison

  • Engage with clients, partners, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.

​

7. Other Duties

  • Assist in training junior staff, interns, or field enumerators on research tools, methods, and ethics.

  • Review and proofread reports, datasets, and publications for accuracy and consistency.

  • Provide logistical and technical support for research-related events, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.

  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities, including developing frameworks and conducting project assessments.

  • Translate documents or transcribe interviews when handling multilingual data.

  • Explore and recommend new tools, software, or methodologies to improve research processes.

Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (preferably in Political Science, Politics and International Relations, Government Studies, Social Policy) or relevant fields.

  • Malaysian citizen with strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken); knowledge of local Sarawak languages is an added advantage).

  • Experience in interviews, fieldwork, or community-based research, particularly in Sarawak's diverse settings.

RESEARCH INTERN

We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven professional to become part of our team.

ON-SITE INTERNSHIP | Minimum duration: 12 weeks​

This position is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in research design, data collection, and analysis. Interns will assist the research team in ensuring accuracy, reliability, and meaningful insights in all outputs while learning professional research practices in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
 

1. Research Planning & Execution

Requirements:
 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Social Sciences (e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Government Studies, Social Policy) or related fields.

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; knowledge of Sarawak’s local languages is an advantage.

We are seeking an experienced Digital Communications Associate to lead and execute digital content strategies.

This role requires a creative storyteller and strategist with hands-on experience in managing end-to-end content creation, scheduling, and audience engagement. Candidates should demonstrate strong project ownership, cultural literacy, and the ability to lead and collaborate across departments.

1. Content Creation

a. Content Planning

  • Lead content planning and development of projects, with a focus on community-centric storytelling.

  • Write captions that match brand tone and drive public conversation.

 

3. Content Curation

  • Source, evaluate and suggest relevant news or campaign content aligned with the company or clients’ brand.
